Our New Home

We went to the Oregon Coast with Carey last weekend. It was beautiful in Cannon Beach and Haystack Rock was so much more breathtaking than I had remembered. I will put up photos soon!

Since then it's been a busy week here in Seattle! The sun is shining and it's been really pretty. I caught a cold at the beach though so I've been sniffy and croaking all week. Work is starting to pick up and we're well on our way to the high season. I'm bringing Dan back to help me and have already off loaded all of my weekend hours to him.
Josh and I are housesitting Matthew and Tricia's big (and perfectly designed) townhouse on Capitol Hill. It's the posh life over here with three stories, four bathrooms and kitchen perfectly suited for cooking a gourmet meal. Josh and I are going to make homemade pizza tonight but that's about as gourmet as I think we'll get. They also have a big, flat screen TV and xbox 360. I'm getting pretty good at playing rock band and Josh has blisters on his fingers from playing fake guitar with me until 4 in the morning.
We found an apartment to live in - since the houseboat we wanted so badly fell through. (Negative thanks so the rich dude who doesn't want to give up the lease for his 4th of July party.) It's big and we are THRILLED. Two big bedrooms, living room with a chandelier (!!), big kitchen with a dishwasher - because there is a god-, backyard with BBQ and a small deck where we can eat breakfast on sunny mornings. Only a couple blocks from Broadway, we can walk to just about anywhere; the light rail (when it's finished), grocery, ect ect. It's got hardwood floors throughout which is a "must - have" for me. I don't want every other renter's germs stuck in my floor for all eternity. Lots of storage and good light and and and and....we move in May 20th. Hallelujah cried the preacher! It's gonna get a great summer!!

Online Shop

I have a new store at www.etsy.com!
For those of you who haven't been there before, etsy is sort of like ebay for homemade and handcrafted items. It's pretty fascinating to see what people are making these days! Everything from gourmet doggie treats to knitted couch covers.
My stuff is priced pretty high right now because most of it is meant for the show in May. But I figured, hey, if someone wants to grab it for a couple hundred bucks, who am I to tell them no? I might tell them their crazy but... not "no"!
Check it out if you're interested!

More Art

The horse looks a little weird. I need to redo the way it hangs on the wall. Oh well.
Meanwhile, I have started to sew the beginning seeds for my new website!

www.sewridiculous.com

It will soon serve as a gallery/portfolio for me. Yay!

Here's a couple of videos for you!

The first is a video documenting the Birthday Bus's visit to Burien. The city of Burien paid to have the bus at their city birthday celebration. It's also a wonderful video showing how we put the bus together and some great shots of it driving down the street thanks to Morgan's genius idea of altering it so you can drive from the roof!

and this is the movie Carey made to highlight the Nature Consortium. Lots of great Buphalo scenes! I'm very proud of them both!

Praying this Isn't Nature's Way of Saying "April Fools"

It's April 1st and it's BEAUTIFUL outside. My heart is jumping in little random, staccato beats at the prospect of an early summer or even just a sunny spring. I'm so used to fearing Seattle's dark, and dull April and May.
But this morning I woke up and it's too luxuriously clear outside not to give a big hell yeah for this day!
