2007: Nutshell

Looking back this has been a year of changes more than accomplishments - but that sounds like it was hard. It was really a year of contradictions. A year of several events that should have been really hard but in reality were very easy and exciting. The moment the clock ticked over on Jan. 1, 2007, I knew it would be wonderful.

*continued with my current job, moving to new office, taking on employees and generally continuing/expanding the business as much as I possibly can. I celebrated a year with the company in September.
*Kept June alive and squalking. Even after an eventful year of jumping out windows, falling five stories and meeting chickens.
*Ended a tumultuous but fabulously gratifing 4 year relationship. I'm still processing all that I've learned but I know a few things for sure:
I will always adore my wonderful friend Ben and I would not be who I am today without him. He is a sweet and loving man and I have been really lucky to share so much with him. I look forward to the future and what our loyal friendship will have in store for us!
* Moved into my own apartment in a neighborhood I LOVE. I love my apartment. I love my view. I love my garage. I love my bathroom, closet, front door, back door, kitchen and hardwood floors. I love my dimming lights and well heated rooms. I love the light in the morning and midday (this time of year), I love the birds and trees outside my window. I love this apartment.
* Made several new friends, too many to list here. I continue to cherish my huge group of friends.
* Went to Victoria, Vancouver, back to Wenatchee, Chelan, Whidbey, the San Juans, Portland and White Salmon. Getting re-connected with my home turf has been great. There is absolutely nowhere with beauty like the Northwest.
*Went to Burning Man for the fifth year. Besides the fact that it was my best year yet - I just want to attest to the fact that it never gets any easier. That's a hard journey!
* Finished several gratifying art projects this year. In addition to some large scale projects that I took on and conquered, I have finished several smaller creative learning experiences as well. I'm looking forward to more design in 2008 (large and small projects), my first art opening in May, acting in play, and completeing the recording of a radio play.
* Although we moved out of our space at Youngstown in December, I have really enjoyed spending every Tuesday and Thursday helping Meishan teach Nia. Nia has been a huge gift in my life since Meishan and my first class in 2005. I'm looking forward to continuing my practice at our orginal studio: Dance Underground, in 2008. I plan on eventally getting my white belt but do not intend to teach. It would be really nice though if I could take time to get my white belt and move my personal practice to the next level. We'll see! It's expensive!
* Those who know me really well also know that I have been transformed by my relationship with Joshua in the last part of 2007. I'm really looking forward to our life in 2008: going to Mexico, back to Burning Man and every single simple moment inbetween. Every day is an adventure for us and I won't go into more for fear of sounding like a precious moments figurine.

Happy 2008 kids!

Excellent year-end wrap up. Add in: give a speech at shoo shoo's wedding. Do you know what play you're doing yet?
